TheNorth Central Association of Colleges and Schools(NCA), also known as theNorth Central Association, was a membership organization, consisting of colleges, universities, and schools in 19 U.S. states engaged ineducational accreditation. It was one of sixregional accreditationbodies in the U.S. and itsHigher Learning Commissionwas recognized by theUnited States Department of Educationand theCouncil for Higher Education Accreditation(CHEA) as a regional accreditor forhigher educationinstitutions.[1]

The organization was dissolved in 2014.[2]The primary and secondary education accreditation functions of the association have been merged intoAdvancEDwith the postsecondary education accreditation functions vested in theHigher Learning Commission.
