Research at School of Engineering, Design and Built Environment
Western Sydney University is ranked 11th of 40 universities nationwide for Australian Research Council grants.
Western Sydney University has been judged top 20 (18th) of Australian universities in the 2012 national review of research quality (ERA).
The School of Engineering, Design and Built Environment holds regular seminars showcasing its own research, as well as visiting scholars to the School. The School has an active research culture which encompasses several research concentrations.
Our goal is Engineering, Designing and Building for Future.
Aligning with the WSU’s Sustaining Success 2021-2026, our mission is to provide leadership and scholarship on research in specific engineering, design and built environment fields with engaging industry, government, non-governmental organisations, communities and other organisations to contribute to their sustainable development and to create innovative, sustainable and technical solutions.
Our vision is to conduct world-class research regionally, locally and globally, in particular for Greater Western Sydney Region, to address key engineering challenges with our research teams’ expertise, supporting by our state-of-art labs, equipment and facilities.
