Although I only started this year, so far I've had a positive experience. My classmates are really diverse, theres high school students, people who have worked in military, have jobs, people much older then I am, people my age, etc. I think for the price you pay you get a pretty good education. My classes are pretty interesting, I am currently taking Political Science and Communications (10 credits). I am able to handle these classes pretty well while also taking classes at my high school, since I am a Running Start student. I would reccommend!
I love being a Running Start student at Clark. Everyone is amicable and helpful. Classes are informative and educational. The students are all very kind, everyone feels motivated and engaged. The services and resources offered at Clark are wonderful. They offer services such as health, food, employment, and more. The campus itself is also very nice. If I were to change one thing, I would increase the availability of some resources. Resources such as counseling and advising services are usually booked out, so it can be difficult to get an appointment. However, this is probably just due to low staffing.
Clark College is a fantastic opportunity for low-income rural students. I participate in Washington State's running start program and receive classes for greatly reduced fees. While some professors are only there for tenure, there are many professors with a true passion for their discipline and their students, and you can easily find these by enrolling early. The quality of academics I have received has been rigorous and in-depth, and I feel it has adequately prepared me for my future in a 4-year institution.
