You will graduate fully equipped with the knowledge and skills required to incorporate the principles of primary health care into specific fields of practice. Graduates typically gain employment in areas promoting health and disease prevention, and improving health care access and outcomes in both developing and developed countries. They can go on to gain employment in a number of fields and settings including government departments and nongovernment agencies internationally.

The program prepares you to analyse theories of the determinants of health and wellbeing, understand models of primary health care, appreciate multidisciplinary approaches in health and human services for promoting and improving health, and apply primary health care strategies aimed at improving health in developing countries. Topics cover areas such as social determinants of health and wellbeing, primary health care practice in developing countries, and action on social determinants of health.
