Curriculum

The objectives of the PhD in Biostatistics program are to train students in the theory, methodology, and application of biostatistics.

The 31-credit PhD program is offered primarily as a full-time degree program, and can be completed in four years of full-time study.

The required courses are offered by faculty in the Penn State College of MedicineDepartment of Public Health Sciencesand taught on the college's Hershey, PA, campus.

Prerequisites

Applicants to the Biostatistics PhD program will need to have completed some graduate-level coursework in mathematical and applied statistics from a recognized graduate program.

In addition, all applicants must have completed a bachelor's degree program at an accredited U.S. college or university, or its equivalent in another country, with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
