The School of Biological and Behavioural Sciences at Queen Mary University of London is one of the UK’s elite research centres, according to the 2021 Research Excellence Framework (REF), the UK-wide assessment of university research.
92% of our School’s research is rated as either world-leading (4-star) or internationally excellent (3-star), and we are ranked 13thin the UK for research impact.
We are home to an active and multi-disciplinary research programme. Our research staff are engaged in a wide range of projects across the broad sweep of biological and psychological sciences. Much of this work is made possible by our in-house analytical services and core facilities, supported by our skilled technical staff.
Teaching and research within the School of Biological and Behavioural Sciences is organised into 3 departments. Research activity across the three departments is embedded within four interdisciplinary research centres.
All of our research centres have interactions with researchers in our other centres.
