The Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics offers the following graduate degree programs:

Degree Details
Master of Public Health (MPH)
TheMaster of Public Health (MPH)is a professional master's degree designed to provide practical training in areas related to public health. The department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics administers two concentrations of the MPH degree, combining coursework in Epidemiology and Biostatistics with the other core public health areas (health promotion and community health sciences, health policy and management, and environmental and occupational health).
Epidemiology students learn how to evaluate the interplay among environmental and societal conditions, psychosocial factors, by quantifying the risks and benefits of medications and other treatments.
The Biostatistics program teaches students how to apply mathematical rigor, statistical methods and computational models to scientific research in health-related fields across all branches of scientific inquiry, from laboratory-based and pre-clinical investigations to large observational cohort studies and randomized clinical trials.
Doctor of Public Health (DrPH)
TheDoctor of Public Health (DrPH)with a concentration in Epidemiology is designed to develop public health leaders who apply advanced epidemiologic methods and public health concepts to identify and understand the factors driving the occurrence and distribution of diseases and health conditions in human populations. The curriculum prepares students to design, conduct, supervise, and evaluate observational or experimental studies in population or clinical settings, ultimately to develop the evidence base for controlling health problems and improving health status. Graduates will be prepared to hold leadership roles in public health practice-based settings such as health departments, community-based organizations, non-profit organization, international agencies, and academic institutions.

Maternal and Child Health Certificate
TheMaternal and Child Health (MCH) certificateis an interdisciplinary certificate that partners with departments across the School of Public Health, designed to increase MCH competencies to graduate-level students. Additionally, the MCH certificate offers electives from the College of Education and Human Development and the Bush School of Government and Public service.
