My experience at Lake Michigan College (LMC) has been largely positive, and I’m grateful for the opportunities it has given me, but there are a few things I wish could be different, particularly when it comes to the availability of online courses. One of the things I really appreciated about my time at LMC was how affordable it is. Compared to many other colleges and universities, LMC provides a quality education at a fraction of the cost. However, there is one area where I think LMC could improve: the number of online classes. Don’t get me wrong – online classes can be a great option for students who need flexibility due to work, family obligations, or other personal reasons. Online classes, while convenient, can feel isolating.I think there should be more of a balance between online and in-person options. Some subjects, especially those that require hands-on learning or in-depth discussions, are better suited for the classroom.
The campus is overall very nice, it gives of a more small-town vibe although you do not see many different people. After the first couple of weeks, you see all the same people. They have their good and bad professors, but some professor in particularly I would never recommend an athlete to take. I had one of these professors and she would mock my sport and would never even attempt to work with me as an athlete even when I would ask only for extra day on an assignment due to a travel event we had.
Lake Michigan College is the place to be! Everyone there is so friendly and welcoming. It’s a small beautiful campus.
