I’m a current student at Whatcom Community College. Overall, it’s been a pretty good experience. I’d like to think we have a lot of professors who care about their students and put in the time to help students comprehend content in their courses. Whatcom is definitely a great place to start college. There’s definitely challenging courses but they have insanely good resources such as their math center. Overall I’m really glad to be a part of Whatcom Community College!
Whatcom Community College is the equivalent of paying for your own babysitter. You learn nothing you couldn't learn in a few minutes on the internet (which is free, by the way) and the social scene is basically nonexistent. The only people it would be beneficial for is Running Start students who don't care about making friends in college and are just there to get free college credit. Would not recommend.
My overall experience at whatcom coming from a running start student, to full time student, as well as an on-campus employee has been a very positive experience. I have been able to participate and earn a life changing experience and education while simultaneously not going into debt over my education. With lots of scholarship opportunities and on campus support systems, my time here at whatcom was very well spent and created an everlasting and positive impact on my life.
