Starting out in a community college sounded a little boring, but after awhile I learned it was the best decision! I have been loving my classes as well as being able to learn so much. My professors work extremely hard to make their students understand material and feel prepared for exams. One thing I would change, would be things to do for students. There isn’t any fun events or things to do, so everyone’s only on campus for lectures, exams, or studying.
My experience with college of southern Idaho has overall been well. I like that the teachers and staff at our school help us learn effectively, I along with many other students are children of refugees. We are a minority at the school, and we try our best to be hard working students that can also manage being from two cultural backgrounds. I would like to see more diversity at my school, more clubs and activates dedicated to including and inspiring the minority of Black and Asian immigrant students at my school.
I enjoy the environment and learning from my professors and peers. Something I would like to see improve would be for some professors to teach the material in class instead of posting lecture videos because I am more of a visual learner. At times, I have found it challenging to fully understand the material through online lecture videos.
