Dedicated. Professional. Reliable.
The National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES®) was founded as a trade association in 1987 to promote excellence in the field of credential evaluation. In the absence of a US government agency that monitors such services, NACES is committed to formulating and maintaining the highest ethical and professional standards in the field. Members of NACES are independent, nongovernmental organizations that provide credential evaluation services to individuals who have completed part or all of their education outside the United States.
Mission Statement
NACES members serve as the foremost leaders in applied comparative education upholding professional standards and a code of ethics to ensure that individuals receive quality credential evaluation services.
Vision Statement
NACES strives to continue its role as the leading authority maintaining the ethical and professional standards for independent credential evaluation in the US. Students, international professionals and society benefit from the research-based and trusted credential evaluation provided by our members.
Global Standards Program
NACES offers its Global Standards Program (GSP) to credential evaluation and assessment organizations located outside the United States that desire to further refine their practices in alignment with NACES’ high-quality, research-based professional standards of methodology for credential evaluation and assessment services. A NACES Global Recognized Organization (GRO) is not an official member of NACES; yet, it is one that applies the standards and principles of NACES. Its work demonstrates evidence of intent to comply with many of these standards. A GRO may go about actualizing these standards in different ways in its own socio-cultural-political-educational context. For more information, please contact Margit Schatzman.
