Skagit Valley College in my opinion offers a great learning experience with dedicated teachers and a supportive vibe. The small class sizes mean students get more personal attention, which helps them connect with the material. My name is Isaac Flores Gutierrez, I would be thrilled to share my experience. I am a first year college student, the campus is great the students are all in their separate world and as for the advisor/ professor they are all very helpful. Creating each their own image and character which I think is important due to the fact they can help each individual out with what they can extend themselves to. The library is a great place to head knowing there are assignments that need to be completed which give me the action to take. I would like to see change in how the Rubrics of grading are being implemented. Grading wise for particular courses are not always justice in the sense of percentage and quality of doing the work.
Skagit Valley College had some profoundly good professors who invested everything in you, and it also had professors who simply assigned monthly readings. I did have some rather stressful classes, classes where the professors did not really understand why you cared to get a good grade and were not willing to help, but I also had one or two professors who were truly passionate and inspired me in what we were learning for my long term career goals. The class enrollment and advisors were also sometimes frustrating, but the class structures were clear and simple. If you are a genius, you can get good grades by working overtime to make up for the areas in which they are lacking.
