I am a first year nursing student at Lackawanna college. I started at Lackawanna college in the summer of 2023 taking prerequisites for the nursing program. Since joining the nursing program the professors, staff and academics with Lackawanna College has immensely supported, encouraged and empowered all of their students I have consistently seen this, even with/between their faculty. I’m so pleased that Lackawanna College nursing program excepted me into their program. The nursing program equipment is state of the art equipment and programs that are so beneficial to learn on. The nursing instructors have taught us so much in such a short amount of time between clinicals, labs and lectures and class. They make it very easy to learn and understand. The only thing I wish that I could change about probably any college is the financial aid department. I just recently met with financial aid due to a mess up in my FASFA where the advisor told me I should’ve been applying to More scholarships.
My experience with Lackawanna College has been positive. I initially graduated with an Associate’s in Liberal Science back in 2014, and the college’s supportive environment made it a great fit for my needs at the time. Now, returning to pursue an Associate’s in Cybersecurity, I’m finding that same level of support and adaptability, which is so helpful, especially as a full time working parent of two. The faculty is approachable, and the curriculum, like in my current Operating System Fundamentals course, is well-designed for students who are balancing multiple responsibilities. Overall, Lackawanna has been a great stepping stone in my academic and career journey.
I am transferring there, but so far my experience has been great. I learned a lot at orientation, and am excited to start soon! I have also met some of my professors during the interview process and was very impressed.
