This articulated suite of courses aims to provide health professionals with advanced knowledge and skills to deliver high-quality education, evaluate and improve learning and teaching, undertake clinical education research, and lead education in health service and other settings.
The courses have an authentic and applied focus, in that learners are guided to apply evidence to local educational practices and processes, as a basis for improvement and change. This delivers direct benefit to the individual, their own students, and organisations.

What you will study
The Clinical Education postgraduate courses at Flinders support health and social care practitioners to advance their expertise in education.
The Graduate Certificate (4 topics) has an applied focus on improving delivery of health and clinical education in a range of settings
The Graduate Diploma (8 topics) has a focus on building knowledge and skills to evaluate and improve health and clinical education
The Master of Clinical Education (Coursework) (12 topics) builds on the first two awards, and supports health professionals to lead health and clinical education in a range of environments and systems
The Master of Clinical Education (Research) is a higher degree by research program aimed exclusively at health practitioners who want to contribute to this specialist body of knowledge by undertaking a significant piece of educational research.
Entry requirements
Graduate Certificate
Applicants must normally hold a bachelor degree or equivalent qualification and have at least one year full time equivalent of teaching experience in a clinical or health related field such as; but not limited to; nursing, midwifery, medicine or health therapy.
Graduate Diploma
Applicants must normally hold a bachelor degree or equivalent qualification or the Graduate Certificate in Clinical Education or equivalent qualification and have at least two years full time equivalent of teaching experience in a clinical or health related field such as; but not limited to; nursing, midwifery, medicine or health therapy.
Masters
Applicants must normally hold a bachelor degree or equivalent qualification and must have a minimum of two years' full-time equivalent teaching work experience in a clinical or health related field such as; but not limited to; nursing, midwifery, medicine or health therapy; or hold the Graduate Certificate in Clinical Education or hold the Graduate Diploma in Clinical Education from Flinders University or equivalent qualification.
In addition applicants must satisfy the University that they are reasonably likely to be able to successfully complete the requirements of the award within the maximum duration.

Applicants must normally hold an approved degree or equivalent qualification from an approved tertiary institution, or the Graduate Certificate in Clinical Education, or equivalent.
Masters
Applicants for the Master of Clinical Education who do not hold the Graduate Certificate in Clinical Education or the Graduate Diploma in Clinical Education must normally hold an approved degree or equivalent qualification from an approved tertiary institution and have not less than two years’ work experience in a relevant clinical area.
