At 30 years old, I’m excited to begin my journey in Modesto Junior College’s Welding Program. After years of exploring different career paths, I’ve discovered a passion for hands-on work and problem-solving, and welding offers the perfect combination of creativity and technical skill. I’m eager to learn from experienced instructors, gain practical experience in the shop, and develop the skills necessary for a successful career in this field. Starting at this stage in life may be unconventional, but I’m confident that my maturity, dedication, and life experiences will help me excel and reach my goals.
I really enjoy being a student at Modesto Junior College. The professors are all very caring and really want the best for the students. I really like using Canvas for turning in assignments and communicating with professors. The only critique I would have is I would like to see more in person classes. I really enjoy being apart of the in person setting because I like to meet new friends and speak with the professor live, but sometimes I am forced to go online because an in person class doesn't work with my schedule, or there is no available option for in person. Overall, I am grateful for the opportunity to gain a quality education and continue to gain knowledge and skills that will prepare me for my future.
Modesto junior college is a local community college in my area. It’s known as the college students end up at, if they “dont attend a university” or “don’t know what they are going for.” I went there with those prejudice, but after attending some science classes i noticed how invested the professors are and devoted to their students. They have remodeled buildings and a clean campus, most of my professors have a doctorate and are really knowledgeable in their area. The professors really stood out to me with their willingness to help. Although books can be expensive it’s generally a great school to attend to. It is not a party school, or an active school, it’s a great school to get your associates and transferring knowing you earned your degree.
