St. Olaf is, amongst colleges, a pretty amazing place to be. There will always be someone for you, to be around you, study with, hang out, everyone is super duper friendly. The course options are very interesting and decently engaging, most of the professors actually care about you and want to see you succeeded so you get a lot of one on one attention and help with your studies, they have good mental health programs and help, the food is really good on visitor days but currently it's so downhill. They often run out of food not even half way through a meal, the dining hall is extremely over crowded and understaffed, as well as there not being enough hours, past 8pm you can't really get food anywhere, the cafe while convenient is over priced. But overall a good school.
St Olaf College has everything and more for a great college experience. They have good food, good housing, great professors, and a great small town in Northfield. Everything is very accessible and easy to access whether it be for academics or just in general terms. There's plenty of activities going on 24/7 and there's always more opportunities to get involved in student orgs, student jobs, or even athletics.
My experience at St. Olaf College has been enjoyable thus far. The community is the school's biggest "it" factor; there is something exceptional about Oles. I felt immediately welcomed on campus and learned quickly that there is a group for every person. The camaraderie between the different sports teams (MIAC and club) is unique and precious. There is a balance on the campus that is unique as well; every Ole is well-rounded, and there isn't an over-emphasis on athletics versus academics versus arts. Every area of study or interest is encouraged and fostered on campus. I would like to see a change in the housing process; housing was quite messy the past semester for all of the current students, and it was a stressful endeavor for everyone. I'd like to see more off-campus housing available for upperclassmen, or more options for those living on campus. That being said, I am glad I chose St. Olaf as my college and look forward to spending the next three years there.
