Forming part of our MBA Future Business, the DEP is a landmark program that will see students learn how to use modern innovation tools and techniques to address real national security and intelligence issues. It is based on the Hacking for Defense ® (H4D) program created in the US in 2016 by Steve Blank, founder of the Lean Startup movement; Joe Felter, a retired Army Colonel; and Peter Newell, CEO of BMNT.

Experience the Advanced Manufacturing Entrepreneurship Program as part of your course. This specialised industry entrepreneurial program is focused on helping small to medium enterprises address business challenges using advanced manufacturing tools and techniques – also known as industry 4.0. It combines the best of the university’s world-class advanced manufacturing and prototyping capabilities with access to academics and researchers, and will feature interactive workshops, coaching, technical support, mentor guidance and more.
Our Wine and Tourism Entrepreneurship Program works in two ways: technological acceleration, and technological adoption. Engage with both as part of your MBA, with the program offering intensive acceleration to existing wine and tourism technology companies that are innovative and ready to scale up, and pairing them with businesses who will use their products and services. The Wine and Tourism Entrepreneurship Program is also intended to speed up technology adoption by viticulture, wine and tourism businesses by connecting them with state-of-the-art technology solutions.
Angie Shafei, MD DBA, is an interdisciplinary Associate Professor, Clinical Pathologist, Pracademic, Health Management Consultant and Researcher. Her main interests are innovation and transformation in health.
Angie has more than two decades of experience in the medical, education, quality and accreditation sectors in Australia, North Africa and the Gulf. She is an Associate Fellow of the Australasian College of Health Service Management and Co-founder of InnovateInn, a Technology start-up specializing in Medtech and AgriTech.
She is a research commercialization expert with hands-on experience in Health Transformation, who uses her unique interdisciplinary expertise to engage in translational research and has published in peer-reviewed publications in ConsumerX, mHealth, Telehealth and patient-centred service delivery models.
Afshin’s main areas of interest include social marketing, digital marketing, gamification, and services marketing. His work mainly focuses on understanding how digital technologies - and specifically, gamification - can be used to bring about positive outcomes for individuals and society.
Afshin has developed gamification services in domains such as mental wellbeing promotion and alcohol consumption reduction.
He has also developed several educational game-based programs in areas such as digital marketing, sustainability, and business ethics, and has experience working in different industries such as publishing, automotive and pharmaceuticals in different sales and marketing roles.
