Applicants who do not meet UniSA's English language entry requirements and need to improve their English proficiency can study at the following English language pathway providers, who partner with UniSA in Adelaide, South Australia:
The Centre for English Language at the University of South Australia (CELUSA), located at UniSA’s City West campus, delivers high quality Academic English programs designed to prepare students from non-English speaking backgrounds for university study.
CELUSA is suited to both undergraduate and postgraduate applicants who do not meet the University’s English language entry requirements and offers Academic English (AE) language preparation programs.
If they successfully complete the AE program at an appropriate level, students applying to these institutions will not need to take IELTS or any other English language test. Depending on their English level upon commencement of the AE program, and their required IELTS score for further studies, students will study for between 10 and 30 weeks.
AE develops the skills necessary for academic study, such as listening to lectures and note-taking, planning, report and essay writing and participating in group discussions and oral presentations.

For students who do not meet program entry requirements, it is possible to gain entry into a UniSA degree through a pathway program delivered by partner institutions in Adelaide, South Australia.
The South Australian Institute of Business and Technology (SAIBT) provides pathways to University of South Australia bachelor degrees. Applicants who do not meet the entry requirements for a specific degree program can be given the option of applying for a SAIBT Early Transition Program (ETP) or diploma in a related area. Subject to successful completion of an ETP or diploma approved pathway and achieving the required Grade Point Average (GPA) (for select degrees) as well as any other conditions, students will then be able to transfer, with credit, to any of the UniSA programs to which the SAIBT programs are linked.
Programs may be structured to incorporate English language for international students who need to improve their academic English proficiency. The amount of credit granted will vary from degree to degree. In many cases, a full year's credit will apply, in others it will be less. In some cases successful applicants will achieve considerable time savings on their UniSA program, in others there will be no time saved, but applicants will have a lesser load than other UniSA students.
