- Student Body: As a community college, the student body is fairly diverse as far as age of students, walks of life, career goals, and even somewhat ethnically. I would say the student body is mostly a reflection of the state of Oregon (about 80% - 85% Caucasian).
- Academic Experience: I am still trying to get into one of the restricted entry programs. I made it into the top 50 of 2 programs but did not get into either one (max: 18 students / year) due to my inability to get all A's (being a single mother to 2 high needs, developmentally delayed, on the autism spectrum boys, not in school or day care = very difficult to do as well as I'd liked). I believe the programs are very good, however, there is nothing in place for internship / job opportunity assistance (job searching, internship, networking assistance).
- Academic Experience: This school is known for it's nursing program (new facilities) but also has a sought after dental hygiene program and other allied health careers. It also has on campus university transfer opportunities. Most (but not all) instructors are very good. The curriculum is varied / vast. There are many online and hybrid class options (I wish there were a few more for those of us with children or jobs we need to work around).
- Campus Resources: Wireless access is easy but the speed is so slow because so many students are using it at any given hour. Printing is a hassle and its 5 cents per page so I try to print at home only. There are a great deal of computer labs and computers in the library but I do all my online work on my laptop because I have a faster connection and I prefer a cozier environment for doing school work.
- Campus Resources: I don't use most campus aesthetics but the library has a lot of resources as does the bookstore which are very crowded the first few weeks of each term. There are a lot of events that go on in the student union which is typically a very relaxing environment where people hang out, play cards, do school work, play the piano. . . but the events usually send the usual crowd running unless there's free stuff involved.*(4)
